AR Scenes App
At Creative Engineering, Lara lead the production of 600+ Virtual Objects or Augments to create the content library of the stand-alone AR Scenes app.
The now sunset app featured depth-aware filters and adorable characters and more that you can place right in your tracked scene.
The task was hefty, as ~85% of the assets were created in the first 6 months of this project. The process relied heavily on establishing new pipelines for a cutting edge deliverable that wasn’t really a game nor just a CG asset.
The Virtual Objects had to be visually and conceptually appealing while the backend code had to work flawlessly with the app.
Working on this app was extremely challenging as the whole team had a very steep learning curve. They educated themselves on the possibilities of AR to create content appealing and relevant for the “Mixed Reality” medium. Lara worked with the Creative Directors from Meta’s Creative Engineering team to focus the content library around kits ranging from nature themes to cooking to utility icons (e.g. arrows), framing elements and more.
